When is a second opinion helpful?
Sometimes you just need to be sure. Whether you’ve been given a diagnosis, recommended a treatment, or are simply unsure about your next step, getting a second opinion can provide peace of mind.
We offer independent, consultant-led assessments to help you:
- Understand your diagnosis or treatment options
- Explore alternative approaches
- Ask questions in a calm, unhurried setting
- Feel confident before proceeding with care
You’re not starting over — you’re gaining more information to make an informed decision.
What we can help with
We regularly support patients who are:
- Unsure whether surgery is necessary
- Looking for non-surgical alternatives
- Seeking confirmation before going ahead with treatment
- Experiencing ongoing symptoms with no clear diagnosis
- Wanting clarity after an NHS consultation or test result
- Hoping for more time or explanation than they’ve received elsewhere
You may also want a private referral if you’ve already seen a specialist but want access to a specific service, such as robotic surgery, laparoscopy, or hormone therapy.
What to expect
At your consultation, we’ll:
- Review your medical history and previous letters or results
- Listen to your concerns and questions
- Offer a clear, honest opinion based on evidence and experience
- Recommend further investigations if needed
- Respect your preferences and support your decision, whatever that may be
We’re here to offer insight and clarity — not pressure.
Can I bring documents or reports?
Yes. If you’ve had recent scans, blood tests or consultations, it’s helpful to bring copies with you. This allows us to give you a full, informed opinion without unnecessary repeat tests.
