Private care made simple
At Manchester Women’s Health, you don’t need a GP referral to see a consultant. Many of our patients come to us directly for fast, personalised care, whether they have a specific concern or are simply looking for expert advice.
We offer self-pay appointments so you can access the care you need without relying on health insurance or NHS waiting lists.
What does ‘self-pay’ mean?
When it comes to paying for private healthcare here in the UK there are options. As mentioned, you can use health insurance, but that is not always an option. Going private and seeking independent options for treatment means you would use the self-pay option.
This gives you:
- Fast access to appointments, often within days
- A choice of times, including evenings and Saturdays
- Clear pricing before anything goes ahead
- One-to-one care with the same consultant throughout
What to expect
Here’s how the process works:
Step 1: Get in touch
You can contact us by phone, email or using the form on our website. We’ll offer available appointment times and answer any initial questions.
Step 2: Your consultation
You’ll meet with Dr Sujata Gupta or another senior consultant. We’ll talk through your concerns, medical history and any recent symptoms.
Consultation fee: £315
Step 3: Tests or scans
If needed, we may recommend further investigations, such as an ultrasound, blood test or swabs. These are arranged promptly.
For example: pelvic ultrasound from £305
Step 4: Results and next steps
Your results will be explained clearly, and we’ll talk through any treatment options. This might include medication, a procedure or surgery, depending on what’s right for you.
Step 5: Treatment and follow-up
You’ll have full support throughout your treatment and recovery, including a follow-up consultation if needed. There are no hidden charges or unexpected costs.
Who will carry out my care?
All care is provided or directly overseen by a consultant. You won’t be passed between different doctors. From your first visit through to treatment and follow-up, you’ll be looked after by the same senior specialist.
Using private insurance?
We are happy to support patients with insurance where possible. However, many choose to self-pay for the simplicity and speed it provides. If you’re unsure, we can guide you through the options.
