We understand that choosing to see a consultant privately is a big decision. Below are some of the most common questions we’re asked. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to get in touch.
No. You can book directly with us without a referral. If you do have one, we’re happy to take it into account, but it’s not required.
We usually have appointments available within a few days, including evenings and Saturdays. Just let us know what suits you.
All consultations are carried out by a senior consultant. In most cases, you’ll be seen by Dr Sujata Gupta, a specialist in gynaecology and minimally invasive surgery.
Initial consultation fees are £XXX (insert fee). This includes a full medical history and discussion about your concerns. If investigations such as scans or blood tests are needed, we’ll explain the costs clearly in advance.
You’ll have a detailed conversation with the consultant about your symptoms, medical history and any previous tests or treatments. There’s plenty of time to ask questions. If a scan or examination is needed, we’ll explain this fully before going ahead.
Often, yes. We aim to carry out investigations promptly, sometimes during the same visit. If not, we’ll book them at the next available slot.
We’re a private clinic, so treatment is self-funded or covered by insurance. However, many of our patients also receive care from the NHS and choose to see us privately for faster access or a second opinion.
Yes, if your policy covers gynaecology. You may need pre-authorisation, depending on your insurer. We can help you with the process and provide a breakdown of costs.
Not necessarily. Many conditions can be managed with medication or non-surgical options. If surgery is recommended, we’ll explain everything clearly, including why it’s needed and what recovery involves.
That’s completely understandable. We aim to create a calm, supportive space where you feel listened to and respected. You’re welcome to bring a friend or family member to your appointment if it helps.
